40-freaken'-K!

OK, two posts in one day is just crazy, but Second Life just passed 40,000 residents.  40,000! Certainly, only 1% or so of WoW, but I remember being excited about passing 1,000 residents and we're continuing to grow exponentially.  A quick survey of Sir Bruce's last chart shows that we've passed TSO and AC (unless either has had a strange turn-around in the last month).  As most of the residents know, we also held a stress test this weekend that had nearly 4,000 residents logged on simultaneously.  I can't say enough about how hard the development, ops, and QA teams have been working to make this possible.

Next stop, 50,000!
